FADE IN:
EXT. BEACH - DAY
Samus, suited up in her power suit, trudges across the sandy expanse of the beach with an enormous picnic cooler in tow. She surveys the surroundings with a practiced- albeit stoic-eye to decide where she'll sit.
SAMUS
(into comm)
This is Samus. I'm at the designated location.
There's Kmart beach blankets and old rusted Airstream vehicles languishing in the salty air.
SAMUS (CONT'D)
I fail to understand why vacationers find this location desirable for unwinding after long weeks of perilous space voyages...
She cocks an eyebrow behind her suit's visor.
SAMUS (CONT'D)
But- it was recom-"uendEaseda"-ded by Birdie, my social media friend.
YEOWW! The synthetic chirping from the communicator interrupts her internal judgments.
Green chubby birds dart over pathways drawing inquisitive flinches but Samuns carries on uninterrupted.
SAMUS (CONT'D)
Calming... [looks around hesitantly] sense...
The cooler pushes hard as humans roam about mercilessly with limited spf boosts; she clearly doubts their judgement.
SAMUS (CONT'D)
I'll commence relaxation protocol #735 one food precariously packed for ameliorative remedy thru nourishment. Soup crock and ham sandwiches online, next week.
Unloading thermal Tupperware contained sandwiches paired with noise-isolating headphones turned on - she opts for "Suit Adjusting Checklist" and avoids attempting to engage or disengage from locals.
-swoosh! CRICK!
A torrent of yellow sand impedes near her heels.
SAMUS (CONT'D)
Reboot assistance appreciated.
Contorting slightly leftward a young, tanned couple bounces โand promptly must move sand clumps off the midst of green-haired alien and the picnic tables providing overpriced value.
YOUNG BEACHGOER
Sorry about that, ma'am!
SAMUS
No problem.at.all. (Looking hard as if comprehending irony)
Pausing for thought while containing any lively-enough-responses, her metallic suit hums with inscrutable mechanical cadence.
FADE TO BLACK.
NOTE: I turned the creativity and "temperature" up by .1 each and it produced this.
Still, I get the gist of it and there are some very funny moments.
I never considered how much comedic material there could be with Samus.
