Well, let this thread be for organizing the next tournament/major smashmeet we will have. By the look of things it will probably be in early September when we have our School holidays, although I want to know how good this is for Bryce first before we set any dates. Anyone else say as soon as possible if you see issues with the early September time! We may have more newcomers as well, this could roll into something quite exciting. I haven't heard nor talked to Greeneyes for a while. Not sure how interested N30N would be. Wait till closer date I reckon.
I have the problem of transport which can be soughted closer to a due date. But I'm considering taking a bus up to launceston, just need a lift from their.
Anyways. I say date 4th of September as posted in forums. I rarely ever check these, so most of my discussion will be through smashboards.

We have just about confirmed the date as September the 4th now.
We checked out the venue a bit the other night and it looks like it would work quite well. Plenty of room.

Well once you get confirmed fully + how many days we have etc.. It will be time to write up the whole tourny rules, get the name, and add a confirmation list. You know, to actually make it look proper.
This will be considered Tassies first real main tourny tho.

Well, I've already made a temporary booking for the 4th and done some "negotiating". . It will cost us 150 dollars for the use of the place which would be 4 rooms and the lounge. 10 people = 15 bucks each, easy as Pizza. More people = less cost. We will figure out food and other costs closer to the date. I'll just say save up at least 20 bucks. Not hard! There is already 2 TVs available and I'm pretty sure we can pump that up to 4 with ease (Dino, Budge or Len). Sloth more people may want to come down once we get it looking proper to, so we should get onto it say, maybe this weekend.

OOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Now, I'm soon to post the whole thing on smashboards. Now I need to talk about two things 1st is rather simple
Is there any point into making a new thread didcated to the tourment? I say, no, I'll update my 1st post on Tasmania thread. This is considering it will mostly just be us attending, so there won't exactly be anyone else seeking out information about it.
2nd thing SINGLE TOURMENT As I need to get the rules done, I want to know Do you guys want to do either:
DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURMENT (We know how this works, you all play vrs someone, losers go into loser bracket, winner continues, if you lose in the losers bracket your out.)
POOL's (Players will randomly be divided into pools. Size of pools depends on number of participants. Bottom 1/4 ( 25%) of Pools will be elimated, top 75% will advance to brackets)
Round Robin (We all play each other, after that we divide the top players to go into a finals doulbe elmination)
---------------
Now as I see it, I'm not concerned, who is up for a seeding format? putting best players with the worst. This assures better accurate results for top placing.
OKK Or any other ideas pls say. I say we go with roundrobin, to give everone a chance, and considering we shouldn't have anymore then 10, and with about 4 TV's this should be done very very quickly.
kk. Contact soon, so I can post up on smash boards. Plus give me venue name pls. ^_^ SANKU

That doesn't help You have to take into consideration every tourny does things different dependant on size. SEAT1 = Random seeding, the top 16 after the end of 7 rounds played in a double elim SEAT2 = Selective Seeding, top 16 after 10 rounds played in a single elim. SEAt3 = Double Elm OHN5 = Double Elm
---
They are the only tournaments I've been too. But you egt the picture.

I think it may be worth having a thread dedicated to this tournament, in case people in the Melbourne (we all now thats what it should really be called ) or Queensland Smash threads don't check ours and might become interested in it. For the format Round Robin should work well, but see what other people think as well. With that piece of paper thing that didn't quite work out the last time I have thouight of a better way... Averyone has their own piece of paper with everyones name and just a Win/Lose collumn. That way everyone can know their exact wins and its much better and stuff. That is all for now.

Nobody has the possiblity of a laptop? It is the best way. Own sheet of paper seems a bit weird. Really, the best way is to have a single person, with the statisics on paper, and then call out which matches are to be played. And then we they are complete, the people who played return and then record results. Rinse and repeat. In this way, if you use Nazi tatics, you can get the tournament done swiftly, thus leaving more spare time for friendlies after the whole process is finished. Or, a alternative tournament. Like Low tier. I don't think the tournament needs a thread tho. That is My opinion, but hey that is why we are discussing it Knowing and been around the people in the scene, highly doubt anyone would partake in the cost of actually travelling to Tas, unless we proved it was filled with greatly skilled players and worth it. And this can really only be possible via Video's. We need to really get into contact via aim D.J. Sorry for being afk the times you msg me tonight.

Marche has a laptop but has no charger , and they cost like 150 bucks so yeah...
Sorry, I won't be on until Friday Sloth, I am going to Scottsdale for the next couple of days, hopefully plenty of matches can be played against Monkey like last time.
And it already looks like 2 people are coming down from Melbourne, so thats a great start (and the reason why we started organizing, for memory).
