What is the chance of us going/hosting (haha, yeah...) a Major SSBM Tournament. Well, it will have to be before the end of the year, that hopefully there will be another major one (The last SEAT was in December last year) possibly the Pre-Wii tournament (I should copyright that name...) Chances are it will be in Melbourne, but I think it should seriosly be considered having in Brisbane/Gold Coast for a few reasons which I may discuss if anyone wants to know. So, will it be held? Can we get there? Who even wants it? Would anyone bother coming down to us? 2 vs 2 if it happens, we should work on teams Crew Battle!!! ;D

I see, so where abouts are you located?
We are all around the North-East area, except for Sloth who is in Hobart.
Well regardless, I am going to the next major tournament for SSBM that is held in Australia.

Next major tourment will more then likely be in Perth or Melbourne.
Melbourne will more then likely hold a mini sort of tourment before hand tho. Nothing like seat2, but more like what seat3 was. About 16 people, but the core of the ssbm community within Melbourne.. and me.
I'd say go to Melbourne next time I do, Melbourne skill ranges from a lot of unskilled people to extremely good, so it is good experience for anyone really.
People want the next tourment - major- anyway in an area with a lot of smashers and those willing to travel want an area with a nice amount of decent players to offer a good experience and challenge. But heck, at the end of the day, smash can just be an excuse to hang around with a bunch of people, share laughs and see a new area. That is what I mostly use it for ^_^
Winning is also fun tho. Too bad I'm yet to come 1st at a tourment.

Yeah, two 2nd places form the last 2 tournaments you went to.
Well, we will just sit and wait for the next one to come into organization.
In the mean time....
What would be some good teams assuming we can get there? How would we set up our team for crew battles?

Good teams as in 2vs2 sort of play? If that is the case, you talking characters or people?
Setting up a team for a crew is easy, it is just getting the ideal amount of players. If you were to have a TAS crew, we would at least need 3 tassie players. 3 people seem to be the ideal number for Australia crew battles considering we don't get a huge amount of players. If there ever was a major major all australia tourment, then you'd need 4-5.
Ahh.. I wish such a tourment would one day exist, with all from everywhere in Aus.
Crews in Aus is no where taken sersly like 1-1s.

They sort of have a fair go at it in Queensland with Tech Team vs The Ward (Brisbane vs Gold Coast). Although The Ward seem to be doing OK until Syke somes along and takes 15 stock.
"Good teams as in 2vs2 sort of play? If that is the case, you talking characters or people?"
People I meant, but both really applies I guess.
Me and Dino as a combo with either Yoshi and Peach or Double Yoshi seems alright.
In Crew Battles, I think putting Bowser first seems like a decent tactic, His style could completely catch the opposition off-gaurd, and may put us off to an unexpected good start. Then Sloth last to take 16 stock.

Well the reason behind The Ward being owned by Tech Team is because The Ward arn't very good players. Well, I think thats the reasoning I got from Josh up in Sydney.
Anyways. I think putting anyone who just c-stick smashes is a bad idea, most people can counter it easily and you'll see 4 stock get taken away extremely quickly. That is to say, if he hasn't changed since I last versed him.
People generally don't get put off guard by play styles anymore, unless they arn't very good at adaption themselves, and have for to long grown to one style of play only. This is a big case of people with limited experience, or the technical skill to avoid such conflicts.
But you also can see it from a standpoint as to what a good start is. If the suprise is good enough and you see two stock fall, it could be good. Just all depends on who they are versing.
We'd probably more go into the discussion, and I could easily, cause I don't mind this kind of talk, but it seems rather useless if the only two people to travel to the next tourment is me and you. Thus negating Crew situations. I mean if you look at crews at seat3, it was basically choose who want, and just for fun and the hell of it. It wasn't anything major serious as like Tech Team vs Ward. If only Hobart had about 5 keen ssbm players to verse your crew. Then it would be interesting.
Let me tell you the best team advice Ever. ANYTHING and Peach.
Probably best combo ever. In teams you mostly want to look at only: Peach, gay, Fox, Falco and Sheik. They all work well with one another and all have great ko potentional. Using other characters is only reducing your chance to win.

me and bob or Dino and Bowser are the best combos for teams using Doc (me) Peach (bob) gay (bowser) Yoshi (dino) and Ice Climbers (sloth) we should be a fairly effective team i was practicing chain grabs as doc and can pull them of most of the time

Canada boy, sms me on 0408404425
Or get in contact me via msn on: Brycemcd@Gmail.com
I live in central hobart, 3min walk from village, so postcode is 7000.
Len, instead of meeting at my place, a better idea is meeting at Nathans house. Or meeting in town and we can walk there easily enough. But you will only be able to contact me via phone. The place I live you can't exactly knock on the door, cause they lock the main section to the apartments.
So yeah.
